The
University of the Philippines Cebu will be celebrating its Math Week on the 2nd
week of December, 2013.
One of the
highlights of Math Week activities is the Math Olympiad.
This contest is open to all 3rd and 4th year high schools in
the province and city of Cebu.
This event is in line of the several activities of Math week to
commemorate its 26th year of constructive existence and to continue
its tradition of helping students and educators.
Math
Olympiad is organized by Math Majors Circle (MMC), an organization composed of
BS Mathematics program student of UP Cebu. “Its purpose
is to promote the course BS Math in UP,” said Mariane Rose Cadurnigara, MMC
member.
All 3rd and 4th year high school students are invited
to participate in this
year’s Math Olympiad. This will be held during the 2nd week of
December at the University of the Philippines Cebu.

preparing invitations to high schools in Cebu such as Sisters of Mary School, Talisay
City Science High School and Philippine Science High School. Guidelines and
qualification for Math Olympiad are found in the
invitations.

of three categories namely; easy, moderate and hard. Seniors of BS Math are
assigned to make the questions for the contest.
